I came in late tonight and fell asleep on the sofa with the TV on. My girlfriend changed the chanel to Fox News (she knows I don’t like it and that’s one of the cute things you get to deal with when you’re dating a conservitive). I woke up to the factor and Bill was going off about pictures on the internet of some girl who’s on TV. He was making a good point (ouch that hurt to say) about the sexualization of kids in the media online, but he was showing the pictures he claimed to have a problem with while doing the story. Does he care about kids?
Law of averages. Say enough dumbass things and eventually you’ll make some sense.
Youtube bill o’reily and see what you get. Also, keith olbermann does an awesome job of tearing him to shreds.

I work in the Magazine bit in my local supermarket, so i usually end up reading half the bloody things!
Anywho… There was a story in Take A Break about some 12year old girl who went with her friend to meet some 15year old. Turns out this ‘boy’ was actually a 29 year old man, when they realised this, they still got into the car with him. He tried to make them do things, but they kicked up a fuss and got out of the car.
Now, my question is, what are parents doing to protect their kids online, and if you look at it, if they do nothing, can they also take some of the blame for letting their children get into such situations?
I mean, there is plenty of advice out there for parents on how to keep their kids safe online. If they choose to ignore it, are they not putting their kids life at danger… not protecting them like a ‘proper’ parent should?
If parents allow to let there children do what they want online without a care in the world… And something happen’d to their kids. I believe they should take half the blame.
What do you people think about it?
Smoke some weed or sleeping pills.

Occasionally, my preteen is alone at the computer and lately I’ve become concerned. What are some good programs to use to find out where they’ve been online or what has been said — not because I am a "diary reader", but because I want to protect her from harm.
There are many to track but don’t know the names, But why track anyways the damage would be done and too late when you find out, I would purchase a product called Net Nanny It will block access to everything that you feel UN-accatable like adult sites and chat rooms, All you need to get tracker or nanny is go to a computer store like best buy its that simple. You ARE doing the right thing by wanting to know what your kids are doing and I could care less what the others think!

my daughter keeps emailing people in search of penpals what should i do some of them are really dodgey sounding.
are there any safe penpal sites? and should i report the wierdos
will anything be done?
the only way to be sure of your daughters safety is to sit right next to her every minute she is on the net. nothing beats a watchful and tech savvy parent. learn chat acronyms like pos=parent over shoulder etc.
there is no way to look through your computer and see if the 13 year old girl you think you are talking to is really a 40 year old man.
here are some ways to protect your children online

you can take the computer’s power cord with you when you leave the house.

I have a different problem – how can I protect my grandfather online?
He’s been looking at some things that cannot be good for his heart at his age……
You may want to invest in an internet filter it allows you to record everything on your computer. Also this will allow certain privileges to each user you can modify the settings and chose which categories you would like restricted. Also, you can monitor your home computer’s net surfing activity from your office computer. If they are attempt to leave you restriction zone. You can easily terminate access of the internet from your office or anywhere. Here is a link.

Madeleine McCann, age 3, was left in her hotel room with her two-year-old twin siblings. The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children says that Neglect is when when parents or others looking after children do not provide them with proper food, warmth, shelter, clothing, care and protection, and that accidents are the leading cause of death for children. Did the McCanns keep their children safety in their mind at all times? What kind of parents leave three children with a combined age of seven alone every night while they go out to drink? Isn’t it hypocritical and even preposterous that after failing their own children the McCanns publicly stated that they now seek to take up a career with children’s charities (from their site: “we are working closely with the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Centre for Child Exploitation and Online Protection and other non-governmental agencies throughout Europe”) as figureheads?
An US Social Worker says the McCann’s are Culpable for the disappearance of their daughter and for Neglect. Watch the video.
